Abstract
The paper deals with the right of appeal in criminal cases. In particular, it draws attention to Article 2 of Protocol No. 7 to the Council of Europe Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental
Freedoms (hereinafter referred to as "ECHR"). The importance of Article 2 of Protocol No. 7 to the ECHR becomes more important in the context of the considered change of the appeal procedure in the framework of the recodification of criminal procedural law.
