Abstract
Based on narrative resources (oral history interviews), this chapter represent a part of a collective monograph mapping various forms of practicing the seafarer profession, from the times of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy to the present. The chapter focuses on the period after the Second World War, mapping the experience of Czechoslovak seafarers, employed by the Czechoslovak shipping company.
