The study focuses on the philosophical legacy of the lesser-known Czechoslovak philosopher-president, Edvard Beneš. In his practical political life, Beneš was guided by well-identifiable philosophical principles, most important among them his belief in the role of individualism in European history.
He expresses his position in his dissertation, The Origin and Development of Political Individualism in the History of Modern Philosophy. The study then reflects on the crisis of modern humanity and the solutions that Beneš offers, the most important of which is his notion of the integrated personality of man.
