Abstract
According to the Brazilian thinker and educator Paulo Freire (1921-1997), education is always political and works either to preserve the existing social order or to transform it. In his seminal work Pedagogy of the Oppressed (1968), he focused on raising critical awareness, dialogue and cooperation.
In connection with the recent Czech publication of the book, the Neklid Publishing House is organizing a discussion at which, in addition to the translator Eva Batlickova, representatives of the Futuropolis: School of Emancipation project and the NaZemi collective will also speak.
