In the text we present partial results from a research project on the school (failure) success of pupils in the first grade of primary school (http://skolniuspech.pedf.cuni.cz/). School (failure) success was viewed through the prism of didactic, psychological and special education disciplines with the aim of a comprehensive analysis of the causes of pupils' (failure) success in school education.
Th e main aim of the present study was the analysis of pupils' self-assessments in a didactic test in Czech language. We focused mainly on the informative function of self-assessment, by which the pupil evaluates his/her performance in Czech language in terms of the correctness of the solution.
In addition, we also look at selected tasks that test pupils' knowledge in the context of administered didactic tests and evaluate to what extent pupils' self-assessment of their performance correlates with the actual outcome of the solution.
