As a link up to the key competences stated in the Authorized General Educational Program for grammar schools in the Czech Republic, there was a research project NPVII - 'Physics education for universal preparation and development of human resources on the Elementary and High school levels' with a task to solve - how can Physics contribute to students´ key competences development in grammar schools. Sectional activities of pupils and Physics teachers were itemized within the conditions of Physics instruction in order to show how these activities could be displayed and practised in particular parts of each key competence.
At the same time, a link up to the competences the pupils should accomplish at the end of their elementary education was assumed. As another goal there was aspiration to visualise specific activities that lie behind key competences and their parts and can be carried out in the subject of Physics.
