Flood in Prague in August 2002 and what been learned from its Impacts

Abstract

This article describes reasons and course of the floods in August 2002. These floods were caused by extreme precipitation over most part of Bohemia.

Focus of this article is given on influences of this flood on the capital city of Prague. Arrangements made after this flood to protect the city in the case of the similar event in the future are described and discussed as well.
