Abstract
The paper deals with aspects necessary to build bi-directional dictionary of Czech language and Czech sign language. It describes advantages of the notational system utilisation.
One of them is the possibility to automatically generate VRML model for the sign presentation. This model can be seen from any perspective, at any speed and in any detail.
Main goal of the paper is to provide the notion of searching and comparison of signs according to the visual similarity of the model. It utilizes geometrical characteristics of the initial position of models to deduce the similarity between them.
Providing the proper similarity measure, the bi-directional dictionary can be further extended by traversing between most similar signs, as well as by practical automatic tests generator.
