The subject matter of this paper is the numerical simulation of the multidimensional inviscid compressible transonic gas flow governed by the Euler equations. The adaptive strategy is applied in the framework of the higher-order finite volume method.
The higher-order ADER approach is combined with an adaptive procedure. It is based on an anisotropic mesh adaptation strategy followed by a recovery of the approximate solution on the new mesh.
The iterative process is used. The geometric mass conservation law is kept at each iteration step, which allows to solve nonstationary problems.
