(Semi-)automatic evaluation of student assignments

Abstract

The commerce increases the demand for university alumni ready to implement real-life solutions; consequently, the character of lectures shifs towards practical skills. This in turn increases the burden on teaching personnel, especially the evaluation of students' assignments and the testing of their knowledge and skills.

The situation is solved using semi-automatic tools for assigning and evaluation of students' programming homeworks. This paper collects our long-term experience with the application of these tools in a number of lectures taught at Charles University in Prague.
