Material flows indicators for economic sectors

Publication

Abstract

The methodology provides a procedure for sectoral disaggregation of the indicators direct material input (DMI) and raw material input (RMI). Sectoral DMI can be used for implementation of policies aiming at decreasing the consumption of raw materials and products within particular sectors.

Sectoral RMI can be used for justifying the support/weakening the role of sectors, which are related to lowest/highest cumulated input of materials and thus the environmental pressure. The methodology is a result of the long-term research activities of the Charles University in Prague, Environment Center, under the guarantee of Mgr.

Jan Kovanda, PhD. Methodology was developed within the project evid.
