The Oldest St. Venceslas' Hagiography in the European Literary Context on the Turn of Millenium

Abstract

Two branches of the oldest hagiographical tradition of St.Wenceslaus can be discerned. The first one was very hostile to the dynasty of Přemyslides.

Other significant hagiographical works were created with the clearly recognizable prodynastic orientation. The Legend of Cristianus strives to unite the tendencies of both branches.
