The Smeets Case. A Contribution to the Separatist Movement in the British Zone of Occupation in Rhineland and Problems in British-French Relations (1919-1923)

Abstract

This study analyses the main factors and origins of the Smeets Case. Joseph Smeets as one of the main representatives of the separatist movement in the Rhineland was supported by the French which was heavily resented by the British.
