Abstract
The article provides a critical analysis of the !fictional worlds theory' presented by Czech-Canadian thinker Lubomír Doležel. Key criticisms concern:
1) the concept of the world as an aggregate
2) rellationship between texture and the fictional world
3) the concept of literary creation as a translation
4) the concept of reading as reconstruction.
