Abstract
Horatiův Based on historical (biographical) facts, the cultural context and the comparative interpretation of Horace?s Ode 1.5 and the miniature The Young Man amongst Roses, the article puts forward the hypothesis that Hilliard?s miniature could have been inspired by Horace.
