This monograph on movie director Miloš Forman aims at providing a comprehensive overview of the work of this Czech-American filmmaker in both cultural contexts. First the book focuses on his films made during 60. s´ in so-called Czechoslovak New Wave.
Than passes to the American era - to Forman´s asimiliation and his author´s change. After detailed analysis of all the films the attention aims at the specifications of Forman´s style and directing in the thematic chapters.
The author scrutinizes the Czech-American phenomena in director´s personality from the social, political and last but not least artistic aspect.
