Abstract
The main theme dealt with in this study - based on a concept of intertextuality - is an analysis of a connection between Proust´s A la Recherche du Temps Perdu and Visconti´s later work, in particular the films Il Gattopardo (1962) and Vaghe stele dell´Orsa (1962). A particular attention is given to the Proustian 'order of decline and universal death'.
