Abstract

Analysis of the passage in Hegel´s Phenomenology of Spirit about the 'legal state' aiming to explain Hegel´s argument that the 'legal state' in ancient Rome has led in willfulness and puting forward this argument in the context of the contemporary debate in the political philosophy between liberalism and communitarism.
