The study concentrates on the realization of the idea of the "economic parliament" as an instrument of "economic democracy" during the socially turbulent years 1919-20. It refers to the role of T.
G. Masaryk as the initiator of the Advisory Board and to the social and national clashes at the time of its foundation.
