Abstract

The study is dedicated to the election of the first woman in central and western Europe, B. Viková-Kunětická, to a legislative body (1912).

On the basis of extensive archives research and analysis of period newspapers the author describes the complex process of pushing her nomination through across political parties and among predominantly male electorate.
