Abstract

Using the linguistic analysis, critical discourse analysis and questionnaires for the audience research, the author is concerned with the girl's magazines on the Czech and American press market, their typical genres, language, style and ideological work. She explores the carriers of manipulation of these magazines and also how are the contents, topics and form of their texts perceived by the readers.
