Abstract

Glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis is one of the most common and most serious secondary osteoporosis. The most typical picture is characterized by rapid bone-mineral-density decrease in the first 6 month of glucocorticoid therapy and attenuation of anabolic procedures in bone tissue.

Treatment should be started earlier than in postmenpausal osteoporosis; the value of -1.5 T-score is proposed
