Abstract

Charles IV, who founded the New Town of Prague and a number of new ecclesiastic institutions and churches in his realm, built Prague not only as the residential seat of Bohemian kings but also as the residence of Holy Roman Empire rulers. Among others even the gains of relics which Charles concentrated and also the dedications of new Prague churches testify the intentions of Charles IV.
