Abstract
This paper points out three aspects of the meaning of the mission of Cyril and Methodius. Firstly, Slavic paganism is presented, using the views of religionists and theologians.
The second chapter presents the spiritual formation of the brothers from Thessalonica. From these two essential chapters, it will be obvious that Cyril and Methodius lifted the life and religiousness of Slavs to a higher spiritual and cultural level.
