Abstract
In several sections the author presents the major trends in burial practices in Czech churches in historical sequence and briefly compares the relationship between the two normative systems (Canon law and Czech secular law). He points out the considerable degree of relativity and variability of particular rules, customs and norms, and attempts to offer a deeper justification for this phenomenon from a theological perspective.
