Between conjunction and particle: the case of 'epei' in Ancient Greek

Abstract

Article discusses different uses of 'epei' which are to be interpreted at the textual rather than at the content or illocutionary level. The textual uses share as a basic characteristic the weakening of semantic value of 'epei' in favour of its discourse functions.
