The paratactic use of 'hos': state of research and new findings

Abstract

The underlying causal relation cannot be interpreted on the content level as in case of prototypical causal clauses, but rather on the speech act level: hos clauses occur mostly in the direct speech and justify the preceding speech acts (question, appeal, command, etc.).
