Abstract
The roles of the mother tongue and of the further language develop depending on the attitude towards both of them. A child speaking a minority language is often exposed to the situation, that its own language isn't welcome in majority society.
Countries with a strong demographic or political representation of minority languages have stopped talking about defects in the case of children who know an additional language.
