Radical nephrectomy for kidney cancer T3b stage (thrombus level III) has been a widely discussed issue mostly from the view of indication and operative technique, with a regard to intra and postoperative mortality, morbidity and treatment outcome. The authors evaluated their new surgical technique introduced in year 2000 in operating caval trombus level III.
The authors consider thrombus removal to be a part of radical nephrectomy in kidney cancer T3bN0M0 and the applied technique is a safe method for both the patient and surgeon.
