Abstract
General practitioners are the first doctors confronted with the pathological results of biochemical examination of the liver showing the presence of liver disease. The authors of this article present the possibilities of a practical approach to the evaluation of biochemical markers for hepatocelular lesions, cholestasis and liver synthetic functions.
They also deal with the question of the indication criteria for liver biopsy.
