Abstract
The prevalence of migraine is approximately 6% of males and 18% of females. It is a chronic paroxysmal disease frequently with familiar occurrence.
In the Czech Republic it is underdiagnosed and not sufficiently treated. The publication sums up a new classification of migraine and describes the clinical features of a migraine attack.
Brief basic differential diagnostic problems and contemporary medical procedures are listed.
