Abstract

Sterilisation is a medical procedure, which impedes fertility without removing or damaging genitals. Patients often interchange sterilisation for castration and it is suitable to inform them about this fact before the procedure. The possibility of sterilisation of women and men is controlled by various restrictive acts in individual states, often related to the predominant religious orientation of inhabitants.
