Abstract
Subcapsular hepatic hematoma is a rare but life-threatening complication of pregnancy that occurs in 1.5% of patiens with hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, and low platelets (HELLP syndrome). It causes maternal mortality in 56-61% of cases and perinatal mortality in 62-77%.The three most common signs and symptoms of hepatic hemorrhage are epigastric pain (69.5% of cases), hypertension (65.6%), and hemorrghagic shock (56%).
