The posibilities of affecting acute pain in urology

Publication at First Faculty of Medicine |
2006

Abstract

Minimising pain in patients after surgery is an important step in complex care not only in urology. Inadequate analgesic therapy may negatively influence the postoperative course and may result in significantly lower satisfaction of patients with treatment.

The authors report the possibilities of suppression of acute pain in urology including the most widely used analgesics, dosage regimens, and adverse effects.
