Urinary tract infections are, along with respiratory and digestive tract infections, the most frequent infectious diseases. Urogenital tract infection (UGT) can be divided according to a number of aspects.
In routine clinic practice it is important to specify whether a patient suffers from infection of the upper or lower urinary tract with/without obstructions and whether he/she is to be sent for hospitalization to a local urological department. In case of genitalia infection, it is necessary to decide about the risk of sexual transmission and to diagnose the diseases which have to be directed to a venerologist and for which an obligatory report must be sent.
