Fifteen patients were treated for symptomatic thoracic disc herniation in whom surgery was performed via a transpedicular approach. Group of patients was evaluated ambulatory and missing informations we collected by the questionnaire.
Eight patients presented with radiculopathy, five with myelopathy and two with radiculomyelopathy. No patient experienced neurological worsening after surgery.
In four of the eight patients with radiculopathy, symptoms was completely resolved. Improvement was recorded in other four patients.
In four of the five patients with myelopathy, improvement was shown postoperatively. One patient stayed with no change.
In two patients presenting with radiculomyelopathy, pain was resolved and gait disturbance was improved. Hard, calcified herniation was extracted in 10 cases, soft herniation in 5 cases.
