Abstract

Cardiac valves replacement. Cardiac valves replacements are surgeries which enable to change the severe prognosis of patients with hemodynamicly significant and progressing cardiac valve defects.

From artificial cardiac valves is nowadays used a lot of bileaflet valves or tilting-disk valves. Bioprothesis are mainly grafted to patients older than 65 years of age.

From a long-term point of view regular medical checks by a cardiologist are necessary after cardiac valves replacement. These should be mostly oriented towards the careful process of anticoagulation therapy and prevention of infective endocarditis.
