The authors present 3 patients who were initially suspected of having a benign spinal mass. In two of these cases an aneurysmal bone cyst in the thoracic and cervical spine respectively were revealed on examination.
In the third patient a histological examination was needed to establish the diagnosis of chondrosarcoma of the T2. The authors review typical findings of aneurysmal bone cyst using imaging techniques and discuss its etiology and differential diagnosis.
