2004

Abstract

Back pains are a colloquial denomination for algic vertebrogennal syndromes. It is necessary to specify the term ?back? as well.

The ?back? begins at the cervico-cranial transition and ends at the coccyx. The paper describes vertebrogennal algic syndromes of the entire back.

From a neurologist?s perspective, these very frequent syndromes differ from country to country. In the Anglo-Saxon area, back pains are treated by an orthopedist; in our country a neurologist and a neurosurgeon are the main specialists for this question.

The specialists in myoskeletal medicine and rehabilitation medicine also have a very important role.
