Abstract
From 13.?16. May 2004 the 2nd International proCardio Symposium on NTproBNP was held in the beautiful town on Danube ? Vienna, with the program ?The Role of NT-proBNP in the Management of Cardiac Patients: A Universal Cardiac Marker?" The symposium, where leading experts of European and world biochemistry and clinical medicine presented their knowledge, was held in the pleasant ambiance of the hotel Marriott.
The entire program was organized by the firm Roche Diagnostics. The aim of the meeting was to exchange bits of knowledge and to discuss experimental and clinical experiences with defining the level of NT-proBNP and to learn about the possibilities of its application in routine clinical and laboratory practice.
The possibilities and directions of further research in this field were foreshadowed.
