Chronic cough in general practice

Abstract

We meet chronic cough in the surgeries of our GPs. We call chronic cough any cough lasting longer than 3 months a year in the course of 2 years.

We list among these diseases syndrome of the nasopharynx rhinitis syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, pneumoconiosis, lung TBC, carcinoma in airways, congenital anomaly, chronic heart failure, interstitial diseases, chronic allergic and non-allergic rhinitis and adenoid vegetation in children. All these diseases have one common feature: chronic cough.
