Vulvovaginal candidosis - still topical problem

Abstract

One of characteristics typical for the present is increase in mycotic diseases. In gynecology this means that vulvovaginal candidosis became the most frequent diagnosis.

The most important contributing factors are different life style and changing life conditions. Indications about changes in yeast properties also exist.

It should be mentioned that certain aspects of medical care can increase disposition for mycotic infections in some individuals.
