Abstract

The authors present epidemiological data of ductal and lobular carcinoma in situ (DCIS, LCIS). They present a set of 15 patients at the age of 70 and older with breast carcinoma in situ (CIS) in the time period of 5 years.

They analyze the group of patients, mention criteria of classification and principles of treatment. They point out a need for tumour free margins by the surgical management.

DCIS is clinically more serious and it is treated as infiltrating carcinoma.
