Objective: The purpose of this study was to correlate the embolization effectiveness of bone lesions with the patient?s prognosis and with the blood loss during surgery. Conclusion: Successful preoperative embolization of bone tumors have reduced intraoperative blood loss.
Palliative embolization may improve the quality of life, mainly due to pain release. Survival of embolized and surgically treated patients was not statistically different in comparison to palliatively embolized patients.
