Serous borderline ovarian tumours - pathologist point of view

Publication at First Faculty of Medicine |
2006

Abstract

Serous borderline tumours are ovarian tumours of low malignant potential exhibiting an atypical epithelial proliferation of serous type cells greater then seen in their benign counterparts but without destructive stromal invasion. Although this category was established more than 30 years ago, the nomenclature and prognostic significance of various histological features of these neoplasms continues to engender controversy.
