Alternatives to animal experimentation in undergraduate curricula at medical schools - analysis of current trends in the Czech Republic

Abstract

Undergraduate medical students should be both theoretically and practically informed about alternatives to the use of animals in research and education. We have prepared a course based on the 3R concept.

In the course students mastered scientific background of the 3Rs, ethical and legislative considerations, in vitro alternatives, screen-based alternatives and non-invasive students self-experimentation.
