Abstract
Author deals with the Czech national elite of this time which he describes in the term of a so called alternative elite. He sees in this small social group an alternative to the formal elites in the respect of cultural politics up to 1848 and then in the respect of the political goals which it was not able to realise as the others national elites in Habsburg Monarchy in the years 1848-1849.
