The Late-gothic Carving in Kadaň. Problems of the Decoration of the Monastery of Fourteen Holy Helpers

Abstract

The study is devoted to a group of seven late-gothic sculptures of crucified Christ, made in the 2nd and 3rd decade of the 16th century in the Franciscan monastery in Kadaň (Kaaden, North Bohemia) and in the town of Kadaň. These works of art are elaborated by the means of formal analysis and culture-historical methods.
