The elite-public relationship is seen from the perspective of both parts' respective roles in the democratic political system and real effects of their actions on the system.

Based on the concept of political support, chapter seeks answers related to the prefered form of political regime, evaluation of existing regime and fulfillment of mutual expectations between elites and public.
