Argument as an omnipresent attribute of textual coherency

Abstract

Based on a material from political TV debate, the paper proposes a strategy of argumentation in spoken discourse. Argumentation is outlined from the functional point of view as an appeal to reason and emotions, from a formal point of view as a semantic and pragmatic inference between propositions.
